The topic this year is simply amazing. It’s not temporally; it’s what we should always think about. The Creative Architects subject of this year is way better and it’s a trend, something that all of us should know. I mean the architects, interior designers and other professionals.

Creative Architects is actually doing a wonderful thing for the space. The challenge is, we don’t have avenues to channel the energy that the young ones have and it’s not guided. So it’s through things like this that the young ones will manage to come out, interact, network and be inspired by some of the people that are already doing things. One of the biggest problems that we have in the architecture profession is that the older ones are treating the younger ones not terribly well, they haven’t carried them along, so they have just been wandering around the space not knowing what to do and how to go about it. So what this does is bringing everyone together to rub minds together because the future belongs to these guys.

I think for me, coming here last year was very interesting. It’s a unique platform and being here at the event, I could see the numbers of people that attended it and I could see the impact that the Creative Architects have on the younger architects. So it was then that I made it a point that I will continue to support the Creative Architects in any way I can which also brought me here today. It’s a great avenue for the young architects to get themselves inspired.

Last year was very interesting because the theme was ‘’Give Them Home,’’ this time around we are talking about ‘’Design Thinking’’ that is how you get to solve problems. We are trying to see how people can come up with innovative housing solutions, so this year we are working on housing and a lot of design thinking. That is why we are going to be asking a lot of questions like; what? how? why? who? When you ask a lot of questions you will be able to solve a lot of problems.

We started in Nigeria seven years ago, and we noticed that our products are fitting very well in the Nigerian market because we produce high quality products up to certain years warranty. So that is one of the impacts we have in the Nigerian building sector, making sure that our products are not just of high standard but also affordable. So it’s the Creative Architects 2018 and I am glad we are here to showcase our products.

For me the major difference between last year and this year Creative Architects is, last year we had some different great architects and great people who are connected to the business of the industry. But this year I think we have more speakers and I think I could connect more with the speakers than I did last year because it was kind of new to me, now I have gained more experience and I can connect better because I have heard a lot today that inspires me.

I believe Creative Architects are quite interesting, I am a first timer; I saw the advert on the social network and I invited my friends and we came. So far it has been quite interesting, inspiring and very competitive. You know, in the nature of the building industry architecture can never be obsolete. So it’s been fun and I think organizing events like this in different ways will help the future of architecture in Nigeria.
