LAGOS 9.0 ARCHITECTURAL REGENERATION 1 [THE LAGOS RESPONSE]

Architectural regeneration is the collective activities of reusing, adapting and evolving existing buildings within an urban or rural context. The activities recognize the impacts these decisions and interventions have on the regeneration of a place, and are underpinned by the principles of environmental, social and cultural sustainability. The Nigerian Institute of Architects Lagos State Chapter [NIA-LAGOS] understands this phenomena and it became the drive for the general topic of this year Lagos Architects Forum [LAF2018] as they continue to work hard to ensure a great transformation in infrastructure and the entire built environment of Nigeria.

In Jasmine and Zinna Halls, Expo Center of the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos-Nigeria, started from 9^th to 12^th of May 2018, the Nigerian Institute of Architects NIA Lagos State Chapter held her annual Lagos Architects Forum [LAF2018] Lagos9.0 Architectural Regeneration 1 [The Lagos Response] this time, in a prestigious manner as the event received a surge number of members and visitors in attendance, motivated by the caliber of speakers and presenters that braced the event. Distinguish personalities like Arc. Samuel Oghale Oboh FAIA, FRAIC a highly accomplished Canadian architect, non-career diplomat, resourceful leader and the 2015 President of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada [RAIC] The first African brained enough to lead architecture in North America, Mr. Werner Senfter who was appointed the Australian Ambassador to Nigeria in 2016, before then he served in the Foreign Ministry of Vienna as Inspectorate General. Other great personalities participated.  

In his welcome address, Arc. Fitzgerald Umah the Chairman of the State Chapter exclusively welcomed the Speakers, Special Guests, Partners, Sponsors, Exhibitors, Students, Visitors and Members of the Press, on behalf of the entire member of (NIA-LAGOS), in a manner of noble gesture, he proceeded by saying; I welcome you all to the 9th edition of Lagos Architects Forum, LAF2018, LAGOS9.0
