Nigeria’s Arc. Tosin Oshinowo who’s the Principal Architect of cmDesign Atelier has been pronounced among the finalists of Divia Awards 2023. Arc. Tosin made the finalist after the jury made their decision to select the exclusive and inventive architects and designers who have made great contributions to the practice of architecture.
Arc. Tosin Oshinowo posted it on her Instagram page @tosin.oshinowo, expressing how excited she was to be selected among the finalists. Her post read below:

I am so excited to share that I made the shortlist with these amazing women @diversityinarchitecture_ev “Our jury has made its decision and selected five extraordinary finalists who have made a contribution to the architectural practice and convinced the jury with their remarkable societal approach, inclusive methods, and sustainable strategies!”

Arc. Tosin Oshinowo who congratulated the rest of her selected counterparts on her Instagram post said that the award ceremony, which coincides with an exhibition opening dedicated to all five finalists, will take place on the 6th of May 2023 at @aedesmetrolab in Berlin.
On the occasion of the 18th Architecture Biennale @labiennale, a DIVIA reception to celebrate the winner, who will receive a prize endowed with 20,000 euros, will take place on the 19th of May 2023 at @beruehrungspunkte, Palazzo Contarini Polignac in Venice.

ABOUT DIVIA AWARDS
According to the Divia Awards website, Diversity in architecture is the platform to promote a prize for women architects. This award is dedicated to the celebration of women architects by recognizing and honoring their work. The promotion of equality between female and male architects, providing role models for a younger generation of women architects. As stated on their website, the platform cares about diversity in architecture – and their first step is to make women architects visible.
The visibility of women in architecture and in the broader field of urban planning goes hand in hand with their public recognition. Awards specifically for women could well accelerate this development.
