Communicating compassion through Design Thinking works as a compelling milestones, especially when it has to do with actively transforming a deep understanding of emotional struggles into tangible, supportive solutions. Compassion is the action taken to alleviate the pain of others and uphold their dignity, like advocating through entertainment culture, philanthropy, social impact, and creative problem-solving. Just as one of the Nigerian global Afrobeats and Afropop artist David Adedeji Adeleke popularly known by his global stage name Davido has done at the official 2026 FIFA World Cup Countdown Concert at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena.

During his standout headline performance at the official 2026 FIFA World Cup Countdown Concert at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena. Davido, the Nigerian Afrobeats super star captivated global fans with one of the fans favorite tracks, such as “Unavailable” during the global event, while making a powerful political statement by wearing a customized leather jacket with the names of the 39 schoolchildren and 7 teachers that bandits abducted from a school in Oyo State, Nigeria with a compassionate message “Bring Them Home” at the back of the jacket.

The Two Major Milestones that Highlighted Davido’s World Cup Performances
Making history as the first African music artist to perform at a FIFA World Cup closing ceremony in Qatar 2022. Davido performed the tournament’s official anthem, “Hayya Hayya which means Better Together,” alongside Trinidad Cardona and Aisha. And now, he performed his 2026 FIFA World Cup countdown concert alongside Major Lazer in an event presented in collaboration with the Recording Academy, utilizing football’s biggest stage to demand government action for kidnapped Nigerian students.

Davido’s Customized Black Leather Moto Jacket
Davido was wearing a customized black leather moto jacket inventively designed by a top global fashion stylist Hollyandroo. Apart from the names of 39 abducted schoolchildren and seven teachers from Oyo State, Nigeria, and the compassionate message “Bring Them Home” on the back of it, the jacket was designed with green circular pins, with red pins that indicates those that lost their lives in the tragedy. With Kindness and compassion as fundamentally related to human connection, Davido used his outfit at the global exclusive event to raise global awareness about the ongoing crisis in Nigeria and seriously urged the government to hasten rescue operations.

Compassion and Love
Finally, I adopt this saying on LinkedIn by Olawale Kolawole that there’s a good angel inside us that spots kindness, empathy and love. We shouldn’t allow negativity to take over because it’s never too late to be a good human. A simple act of empathy can move mountains and a tiny drop of compassion will flow through like a river. We should celebrate the beauty in others even if they can’t see it themselves as we can win the world only by showing love. Humanity is still alive on this our planet and we do rise by lifting others and putting smiles on their face.
